Local GivingLocal Giving Snapshot:
On October 2, 2011 Gulf teamed up with Cumberland Farms as a Flagship sponsor of the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk in Boston, MA. Cumberland Gulf Team walkers along with several local Gulf dealers joined 40,000 Making Strides participants and helped raise over three million dollars towards the fight against breast cancer!
Gulf's popular Brand Ambassadors were present, encouraging walkers to Toss for Hope – a charitable cornhole game. Depending on where walkers tossed their beanbags, Gulf donated a certain amount of money to the Gulf Oil Giving Foundation which benefits breast cancer research and awareness programs. Nearly 400 Making Striders participated in Toss for Hope. This resulted in Gulf donating close to $500 to the Gulf Oil Giving Foundation in a matter of 3 hours.Local Giving Customer Snapshot:
Gulf distributor Apache Oil based in New London, Connecticut is no stranger when it comes to Local Giving. In fact, two decades ago, Apache Oil founded its own charitable organization called Grampy's Charities.
Grampy's Charities is a 100% volunteer organization with no paid staff. Since its creation, they've donated more than two million dollars to children's charities including Muscular Dystrophy, Make-A-Wish, and the Ronald McDonald House, but also to causes like multiple sclerosis and the Crohns and Colitis Foundation of America.
Through their annual golf tournament, Robbie’s 5K Run, monthly auctions and sales of Grampy's Gear – Grampy and his team are able to make a huge difference in the lives of kids who need help the most. A typical Grampy's Charity Open welcomes almost 300 golfers who played with various Golf Pros and Celebrities and raises close to $200,000 for The Ronald McDonald House and Grampy's Charities.
Gulf Oil is proud to be a sponsor of Grampy's Charity. To learn more about Apache Oil’s efforts and Grampy's Charities, check out Grampy's official website
