Gulf Terminal Operations Donates Fire Response Tools to Local Fire Department
The Gulf Terminal Operations team generously provided the Lower Swatara Fire Department and Dauphin County Hazardous Materials Response Team with specialized fire response equipment at a ceremony on Monday, August 1st.
The equipment, which includes a fire response vehicle, foam trailer, alcohol resistant foam and a foam monitor, was previously located at the Gulf Highspire Terminal in Middletown, Pennsylvania. With this donation, volunteers of the fire department, located less than a mile from the terminal, will now be readily available to respond to a number of fire emergencies throughout Central Pennsylvania, including tanker truck accidents, train derailments and air craft incidents.
This donation allows Gulf and its employees to give back to the community in a safe, meaningful way by providing specialized tools required for specific fire emergencies. Additionally, it reinforces the company's strong commitment to safety and emergency response throughout its operating footprint.
Gulf Commends Lykins Energy Solutions for its Commitment to Local Giving
Lykins Energy Solutions, one of Gulf’s newest and most enthusiastic distributors with seven Gulf branded sites, truly brings to life its company values founded on community service and giving back to the community they live, work and play in. That’s why when funding was scarce for a new fairground pavilion, Lykins did not think twice in donating the money needed to make it possible. On July 30th, a ribbon cutting ceremony marked the opening of the new Lykins Family Pavilion located on the Clermont County Fairgrounds in Owensville, OH.
“We always felt we should give back to the community we get our income from. I grew up running around here. It’s a special place for the county,” said Jeff Lykins President and CEO of Lykins Energy. “When Jerry and the fair board approached us about this, it was a no brainer.”
The new pavilion will bring additional, much- needed revenue to the fairground since the venue will now be able to host weekly concerts.
“We can’t say thanks enough to the Lykins family. Not just for this beautiful addition to the fair but for what you all do to make Clermont County a great place as well,” Clermont County Commissioner Bob Proud said.
Lykins has been recognized for their generosity in articles published by Convenience Store News
