Gulf Oil Giving Foundation

The Gulf Oil Giving Foundation (GOGF), established in 2006, is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization which primarily supports Breast Cancer Research and Awareness programs through a National Tier II Partnership with the American Cancer Society's (ACS) Making Strides Against Breast Cancer (MSABC).

The American Cancer Society's great strength and reputation as a nationwide, community-based voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminated cancer made our decision to partner an easy one. Headquartered in Atlanta, The American Cancer Society has a presence in more than 5,100 communities. Our mission at Gulf, is to commit our fundraising efforts towards charities that touch all of the communities in which we operate.  Making Strides Against Breast Cancer is working towards finding a cure and we are joining them in that!

The Gulf Oil Giving Foundation is raising funds and awareness for ACS's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer through:

  • Swing for Hope Charitable Golf Tournament
  • Local Gulf Station Fundraising Events
  • Regional Activations at Concerts and Festivals
  • National Marketing Campaigns
  • Flagship Sponsorships at MSABC walks, including Boston & Long Island
  • Corporate Initiatives
In 2014, the Gulf Oil Giving Foundation held its inaugural "Swing for Hope" Golf Tournament to benefit the American Cancer Society's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer. Thanks to the participation of Gulf customers and our partners from across the nation, the tournament was a huge success, raising over $100,000 for breast cancer research and awareness. In return for their generosity, golfers enjoyed a full day of activities at the elite TPC Summerlin championship golf course in Las Vegas.

With the help of our network of over 1,800 Gulf branded stations and employees, we are able to help spread awareness in a diverse array of communities throughout the nation.

In addition to our ongoing efforts, Gulf is always brainstorming new ways to help in the fight to end breast cancer. In 2008, Gulf Oil announced they would bring their visible support for Breast Cancer Awareness to a new level by adding a Pink Ribbon Logo to the family.

After the Pink Ribbon Logo was introduced, it was proudly displayed for millions of fans throughout several different MLB ballparks nationwide in support of Mother's Day and Breast Cancer Research and Awareness programs. Soon after the introduction of the Pink Ribbon Logo, Gulf Oil became a National Tier II Sponsor with American Cancer Society's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer and the logo started popping up more frequently throughout national marketing campaigns to show support for MSABC and the desire to find a cure for this terrible disease.

To encourage the driving public to join us in this fight, a new Pink Ribbon Gift Card was introduced for sale at all Gulf gas stations this fall! The Pink Ribbon Gift Card allows the everyday consumer to join the Gulf community in the fight against breast cancer by making a typical purchase into one that will give back to more than just the recipient.

Gulf will make a $1 donation* to the Gulf Oil Giving Foundation for every Pink Ribbon Gift Card purchased that is valued at $50 or more**. If you are in need of a gift or want to support this fight, please stop by your local Gulf station this fall to purchase the newest addition to the Gulf Gift Card family.
